Abstract | This ÃÂàstudy aims to ÃÂàprove and know the ÃÂàsize of the ÃÂàincrease studentsâ≢ ability ÃÂàto ÃÂàread poetry with ÃÂàguided ÃÂàexercises. This ÃÂàstudy use ÃÂàclass ÃÂàaction research ÃÂà(PTK) carried out ÃÂàin ÃÂàtwo stages, namely the cycle I and cycle II of SMP Negeri 13 Semarang. The variable form of the ability to read poetry and learning with guided exercises. Data collection on the first cycle and second cycle using the techniques in the form of deeds and nontest. Nontest technique used is observation. ÃÂàThe ÃÂàresultshowed ÃÂàlearning ÃÂàto ÃÂàread ÃÂàpoetry ÃÂàwith ÃÂàguided ÃÂàexercises ÃÂàto ÃÂàenhance studentsâ≢ ability to read a poem by it self. Assessmentbased on the acquisition of appreciation, vocal ÃÂàtechnique, ÃÂàand ÃÂàappearance. ÃÂàIn ÃÂàthe ÃÂàfirst ÃÂàcycle ÃÂàof ÃÂàlearning ÃÂàstudents ÃÂàachieve ÃÂàan ÃÂàaverage rating ÃÂàof ÃÂà52.60, ÃÂà72.76 ÃÂàsecong ÃÂàcycle, ÃÂàso ÃÂàthat ÃÂàan ÃÂàincrease ÃÂàof ÃÂà20.116. ÃÂàthe ÃÂàrsult ÃÂàshowed ÃÂàan increase after learning to read poetry with guided exercises performed in class action cycle I adn ÃÂàcycle ÃÂàII ÃÂàprovides ÃÂàa ÃÂàfun ÃÂàlearning ÃÂàexperience ÃÂàand ÃÂàan ÃÂàimpressive ÃÂàstudent. ÃÂàWith ÃÂàthe psychological state of these students, this learning can be carried out properly.
